Two Australian dads run to honor their premature babies and raise $1M for NICU care.
Two Australian fathers, James Beattie and Jackson Ball, are running in the virtual Premmie Marathon Challenge to honor their premature children and raise funds for neonatal care.
Beattie runs 10km daily in memory of his daughter Isabella, born at 25 weeks, while Ball covers 110km over three days to support his son Malakai, born at 34 weeks.
Their efforts, part of a national fundraiser founded after the 2007 loss of triplets, aim to provide lifesaving NICU equipment to hospitals that rely on donations for up to 70% of their supplies.
The charity has raised over $10 million since 2007, helping more than 10,000 babies, and seeks to raise over $1 million in November.
