Sudan’s PM demands global action against RSF for atrocities in El-Fasher, as the group controls all Darfur capitals.
Sudan’s Prime Minister Kamil Idris has called for international prosecution of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) over atrocities committed during the capture of El-Fasher, urging UN member states to designate the group a terrorist organization and pursue justice through international courts. The RSF seized the city after an 18-month siege marked by bombardment, starvation, and reports of executions, rape, and pillaging. With the RSF now controlling all five Darfur state capitals, Sudan is divided along an east-west line, raising fears of national fragmentation. While the UN and international officials have condemned the violence and called for accountability, no international tribunal has been established, and foreign military intervention remains rejected by Sudan’s government.
