Qatar launched the 2025 World Summit for Social Development, marking the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Copenhagen summit.
On November 2, 2025, Qatar raised its flag and the United Nations flag at the Qatar National Convention Centre, marking the official start of the Second World Summit for Social Development, held November 4–6.
The event, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Copenhagen summit, brings together over 8,000 participants including world leaders, UN officials, civil society, and youth to advance the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
Qatar emphasized its commitment to inclusive, sustainable development and multilateral cooperation, highlighted by its partnership with the UN and the opening of UN House in Doha.
The ceremony featured a parachute display carrying Sustainable Development Goal banners and concluded with the joint raising of both flags, symbolizing shared goals in social justice and global well-being.
