Former Haryana minister and six-time MLA Sampat Singh has resigned from the Indian National Congress, accusing the party of collapsing internal democracy and becoming a family-run enterprise. In a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, he cited years of sidelining despite his electoral record, alleging favoritism toward dynastic ties and wealthy loyalists over merit. Singh criticized the 2020 Rajya Sabha nomination process and the 2024 Haryana Assembly election loss as outcomes of internal betrayal and exclusion of loyal leaders like Kumari Selja. He blamed the leadership for failing to address systemic issues despite acknowledging past failures, calling his resignation a painful but necessary step to uphold his commitment to Haryana’s people.
