The Perth Bears, Western Australia’s new NRL team, will temporarily use the WACA Ground and nearby Waterbank site starting in 2025, following a $12.9 million state-funded upgrade to support their high-performance operations and training.
The Lillee Marsh stand will be renovated to NRL standards, and the Waterbank site will be transformed with improved drainage, soil, and turf for professional use.
The upgrades, part of the WACA Redevelopment and PlayOn WA: 2030 initiative, aim to create a multi-use sporting hub while the team prepares to move to a permanent High Performance Centre in Malaga by 2028.
The Bears are set to play their first matches at HBF Park, shared with Perth Glory and the Western Force.
