Discovered in a Vancouver basement by Heffel Fine Art Auction House, the rare ink-on-silk album bears four imperial seals and was previously owned by Wang Yiling, a Republic of China-era banker.
The sale marked the highest price in Heffel’s 25-year online auction history and was hailed as a landmark moment for the Canadian Asian art market.
