NSW launches DV Notify, a digital alert system for domestic violence survivors, funded with $227M over five years.
A new digital alert system, DV Notify, has launched in New South Wales as a 12-month pilot to send real-time text and email alerts to victim-survivors when an alleged domestic violence perpetrator is arrested, released, or sentenced.
The federally and state-funded program, developed with survivor input, operates in three regions and offers support connections and notifications in 10 languages.
It aims to improve safety and coordination among agencies, following recommendations from the Domestic Violence Death Review Team.
An additional $8.9 million will fund expansion, with $227 million over five years allocated for broader victim support.
