Michigan State starts redshirt freshman Alessio Milivojevic at QB vs. Minnesota, ending Aidan Chiles’ 20-game streak.
Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith has named redshirt freshman Alessio Milivojevic as the starting quarterback for Saturday’s game against Minnesota, ending Aidan Chiles’ streak of 20 consecutive starts.
The decision follows a 31-20 loss to Michigan, where Chiles struggled with under 100 yards and a fumble.
Milivojevic, who has thrown for 281 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in limited action, will start after leading a touchdown drive in relief.
The move aims to energize an offense averaging just 15.3 points over the last three games and comes amid a five-game losing streak and a seven-game road skid.
The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff in Minneapolis.
