India launches 4,400 kg GSAT-7R satellite on Nov. 2, 2025, for naval communication and maritime security.

India is set to launch GSAT-7R (CMS-03), its heaviest communication satellite at 4,400 kg, on November 2, 2025, from Sriharikota. Developed indigenously by ISRO for the Indian Navy, the satellite will enhance secure, high-capacity communication across the Indian Ocean Region and India’s landmass. It will support voice, data, and video links via C, extended C, and Ku band transponders, improving connectivity between ships, submarines, aircraft, and command centers. The launch, using the LVM3-M5 rocket, marks a key step in India’s defense space self-reliance and strengthens maritime domain awareness.
