Himachal Pradesh will launch a three-month 'Anti-Chitta' campaign on November 15, 2025, targeting the spread of chitta, a low-grade heroin, across the state.
Led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the initiative includes rallies in Shimla and at district and panchayat levels, formation of drug prevention committees in each panchayat, and a special police cell to disrupt drug networks.
Committees of seven members will meet monthly, report drug activity, and run awareness programs.
College volunteers will be trained, and the government has issued a notification to formalize the effort, with coordinated actions across all administrative levels.
