The BFI acquired Terry Jones’s personal film archive, including rare Monty Python materials and early sketches, as part of a legacy tribute.
The British Film Institute has acquired the personal film archive of late Monty Python co-founder Terry Jones, including 16mm copies of Monty Python films, a 35mm print of his 1996 Wind in the Willows adaptation, and early sketches from The Late Show.
The donation, revealed at a BFI Southbank event, was made by Jones’s family and includes materials reflecting his diverse creative legacy.
The preservation effort coincides with the upcoming release of his biography, Seriously Silly, on November 6, 2025, and plans for a statue in his hometown of Colwyn Bay.
