Australian climber Chin-Tark Chan, 49, died on October 29 during an attempt to summit Nepal’s 7,126-meter Himlung Himal, near the Tibetan border.
He fell ill at 6,100 meters and was pronounced dead there.
Rescue efforts were delayed by severe weather, and his body was moved from Camp 3 to Camp 2 before being airlifted to Kathmandu.

The expedition, organized by 8K Expeditions, is coordinating with his family and the Australian embassy for repatriation.
Himlung Himal remains a destination for climbers despite the risks of autumn conditions.
