A woman died after falling overboard during a Taylor Swift-themed cruise; her family blames Royal Caribbean for serving her excessive alcohol and failing to act.
A family is suing Royal Caribbean after Dulcie White, 66, fell overboard and died during a Taylor Swift-themed cruise on the Allure of the Seas on October 22, 2024.
Her daughter, Megan Klewin, filed a lawsuit in Miami-Dade County alleging White was served seven alcoholic drinks over six hours despite showing clear signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and difficulty standing.
The suit claims the cruise line failed to stop serving alcohol or initiate proper emergency response, though Royal Caribbean said it launched an immediate search with U.S. Coast Guard and Royal Bahamas Defense Force support.
White’s body has never been recovered.
The case highlights concerns over unlimited drink packages and safety protocols on cruise ships.
