A Utah special ed aide was arrested for allegedly striking an 8-year-old nonverbal student multiple times at school.
Melissa Diane Davis, 56, a special education instructional assistant in Millard County, Utah, was arrested on October 30, 2025, and charged with abusing a nonverbal 8-year-old student with disabilities.
Video footage showed Davis striking the child multiple times on the arm, torso, and possibly the head after the student hit her.
The incident occurred at Fillmore Elementary School, where Davis was assigned to provide constant supervision.
