The story follows a white adoptive mother and her brown son on a cross-country road trip from Ohio to San Diego in search of the boy’s birth mother, with actor Livia Gomes Demarchi portraying all characters. Blending beatboxing and spoken-word poetry, the play explores identity, race, and family, inspired by Puckett’s own travels and rooted in the cultural diversity of the Bay Area.
