Over 1,100 flags honor military and veterans in Colorado Springs ahead of Veterans Day.
Over 1,100 American flags now line downtown Colorado Springs in a temporary display honoring active-duty military and veterans ahead of Veterans Day.
Organized by Nick Johnson and volunteers from Peterson Space Force Base and O’Donnell & O’Donnell, the installation features 1,111 flags—symbolizing November 11—and spans key locations including Palmer High School and the Pikes Peak Center.
The tribute, called “The Salute from the Springs,” recognizes approximately 95,000 service members from the Pikes Peak Region and will remain until November 11, 2025.
Event coordinator Dominic Rodriguez, son of a 23-year Army veteran, said the effort reflects personal and community gratitude.
The display supports the upcoming ITH Veterans Day Parade.
