The Miami Dolphins fired general manager Chris Grier on October 31, 2025, following a 28-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens that dropped their record to 2-7.
Chairman Stephen M. Ross cited the team’s lack of on-field success and inadequate team-building, noting the franchise’s 25-year playoff win drought—the longest in the NFL since 2000—as a key reason.
Grier, who served as GM since 2016 and was with the organization since 2000, will be replaced by interim GM Champ Kelly, the team’s senior personnel executive.
Head coach Mike McDaniel will remain through the season.
The move signals a major organizational shift as the Dolphins begin searching for a permanent GM to lead a rebuild.
