The State Investigation Agency in Jammu and Kashmir arrested Basharat Ali, a key handler in a Pakistan-linked narco-terrorism network tied to Lashkar-e-Toiba, in Srinagar’s Bemina area. Ali, a fugitive for three years, was linked to a smuggling operation in the Karnah sector involving drugs and weapons, with proceeds used to fund terrorism. He is the fourth proclaimed absconder apprehended in the case, and authorities believe his arrest may lead to further breakthroughs. The SIA has intensified efforts this year, conducting multiple operations that have resulted in several terror operative arrests.
