Education spending by Indians in Georgia rose to $50.25 million in 2024-25, up from $10.33 million in 2018-19, while spending in Ukraine fell to $2.40 million.
Georgia’s affordability, safety, European proximity, and residency benefits have driven this shift, with Indian student numbers there growing from 4,148 in 2019 to 10,470 in 2023.
The country rose to 12th place among top destinations for Indian education remittances.
Meanwhile, Russia saw a 200% surge in remittances, and while Canada and the U.S. saw declines, Germany and the U.K. experienced increases.
