On October 31, 2025, India’s Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched the 'Aadhaar Vision 2032' framework to modernize the nation’s digital identity system, aiming to strengthen its security, scalability, and resilience.
A high-level expert committee, chaired by UIDAI Chairperson Neelkanth Mishra, will guide the development of a roadmap integrating emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, quantum computing, and advanced encryption.
The initiative aligns with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and global privacy standards, ensuring Aadhaar remains secure, inclusive, and future-ready.
Starting November 1, 2025, Aadhaar holders can update demographic details online via the myAadhaar portal using government databases, while biometric updates still require in-person visits.
A new fee structure applies, with free updates for certain age groups and online demographic changes until June 14, 2026.
Linking Aadhaar with PAN is mandatory by December 31, 2025, to prevent financial service disruptions.
