Gstaad won the 2025 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar, giving trainer Aidan O'Brien his record 21st Breeders' Cup victory and extending his lead over the late D. Wayne Lukas. Ridden by Christophe Soumillon, Gstaad overcame an outside post and a slow start to triumph in the one-mile race, with Stark Contrast and North Coast finishing second and third. The win marked O'Brien’s eighth Juvenile Turf title and his 26th Group or Grade One victory of the year. His son Donnacha O'Brien also won his first Breeders' Cup aboard Balantina in the Juvenile Fillies Turf. The day featured other major wins, including Cy Fair in the Juvenile Turf Sprint, Super Corredora in the Juvenile Fillies, and Ted Noffey’s undefeated season in the Juvenile. The $34 million Breeders' Cup World Championships continue with Saturday’s $7 million Classic.
