Political fundraising in Canada slowed sharply in the third quarter of 2025, following a spring election surge, according to Elections Canada.
The Conservatives raised $4.2 million, down from $28 million in the first quarter and half of last year’s same period, while the Liberals collected $2.9 million, a decline from $3.3 million in 2024.
The Bloc Québécois saw a steep drop to $100,000, and the NDP raised $878,604.
The decline comes as the Liberal government faces challenges passing the upcoming federal budget, with the Conservatives warning of a potential election if it fails.
Elections Canada also deregistered the Marijuana Party for failing to meet membership requirements.
