The Bangladesh CID has declared former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 260 others as fugitives in a sedition case tied to the online platform 'Joy Bangla Brigade,' following a court order and approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs under Section 196 of the CrPC.
The investigation, which included forensic digital analysis, alleged the group orchestrated domestic and international efforts to overthrow the government.
Hasina fled to India in August 2024 after a student-led uprising.
A chargesheet was filed against 286 individuals, including her.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal has concluded its trial on crimes against humanity charges against her, with a verdict set for November 13.
