Irving Resources found high-grade gold-silver near surface at its Omu project in Japan, with potential for low-cost mining.
Irving Resources Inc. reported strong drill results at its Omu Gold-Silver project in Hokkaido, Japan, with shallow gold-silver mineralization at both Omui and Omu Sinter targets.
At Omui, five drill holes intersected a 200-meter-long corridor of near-surface mineralization, including a 2-meter section grading 24.22 gpt gold and 173.40 gpt silver, with high silica content.
At Omu Sinter, a shallow hole returned a 41.81-meter intercept averaging 96.6% silica, 0.54 gpt gold, and 8.7 gpt silver, confirming a flat, silica-rich horizon.
Both targets lie just meters below the surface, with the water table at 30 meters, suggesting low-cost extraction potential.
The high-silica material is suited for use as smelter flux in Japan’s base metal industry.
Irving and partner JX Advanced Metals are assessing next steps, with additional drilling planned.
All samples were analyzed by ALS Global using standard methods, and results are not necessarily representative of the entire deposit.
