Hindustan Unilever Ltd has received NCLT approval to demerge its ice cream business into Kwality Wall’s (India) Ltd, finalizing a key step in Unilever’s global Growth Action Plan. The separation, expected by end of FY26, transfers brands like Kwality Wall’s, Cornetto, and Magnum, along with assets and employees, to the new entity. HUL shareholders will receive one KWIL share per HUL share, with Magnum HoldCo acquiring about 61.9% of the new company. The move aims to boost agility, investment, and growth in India’s expanding ice cream market.
