80 Chinese Terracotta Warrior lanterns, from 2008 Beijing Olympics, light up Perth, boosting cultural ties and tourism.
Life-sized, colorful lanterns of China’s Terracotta Warriors, previously used in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, are now illuminating Perth’s Forrest Place, expanding the WA Museum Boola Bardip’s record-breaking exhibition.
The 80 lanterns, loaned from Beijing, will be displayed through November 9 before moving to Elizabeth Quay and then the museum for the Christmas Lights season.
The exhibition, which has drawn over 160,000 visitors, is part of a major cultural and diplomatic initiative strengthening ties with China and supporting Western Australia’s creative economy.
