10,000 cheques to 27,573 women from Self Help Groups in Sadiya under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, a state program promoting women-led entrepreneurship.
The initiative, funded with nearly Rs.
4,000 crore over two years, targets both rural and urban beneficiaries and supports Assam’s network of four lakh SHGs involving over 40 lakh women, which have secured nearly Rs.
21,000 crore in bank loans with a 99% repayment rate.
The CM highlighted national recognition for the women entrepreneurs and announced plans to ban polygamy and eliminate child marriage through new legislation and enforcement.
