Every Richmond County sheriff's deputy now carries an automated external defibrillator (AED) in their patrol vehicle after a completed program equipped 72 vehicles with the devices. The initiative, led by FirstHealth, aims to improve survival rates for cardiac arrest victims by enabling faster response. Funding came from the Richmond Community Foundation for 68 AEDs, with RACE-CARS providing the remaining four.
