Afghan forces arrest ISIS militant Saeedullah, who trained in Pakistan and infiltrated Afghanistan using a fake identity.
Afghan security forces have arrested an ISIS militant, Saeedullah, who admitted to receiving ideological and combat training in Pakistan’s Quetta region before infiltrating Afghanistan via the Torkham border using a fake identity.
In a video, he said he entered under the name Mohammad and described extensive indoctrination in Quetta’s mountains.
The arrest has renewed concerns over Pakistan’s alleged role in harboring and training terrorists, with Afghan analysts asserting that Afghanistan is a target, not a source, of terrorism, and that external funding and coordination—particularly from Pakistan—fuel attacks across the region.
