Short film director Rodrigue Huart is in talks to direct, marking a potential creative shift as it would be the first film since 2019’s Annabelle Comes Home not helmed by Michael Chaves. Huart, known for horror shorts and a recent script deal with Paramount, may bring a fresh vision, while James Wan is unlikely to return due to a reported pay dispute. The project aims to expand the franchise’s mythology with new origin stories.
