Timor-Leste and Indonesia’s Telin sign deal to expand submarine cables and digital infrastructure by 2027.
On October 30, 2025, Cabos de Timor-Leste (CTL) and Indonesia’s Telin signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost digital infrastructure cooperation, focusing on submarine cable development, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and capacity building.
The agreement supports Timor-Leste’s digital ambitions following its ASEAN accession and aims to improve cross-border connectivity.
CTL, which operates the Timor-Leste South Submarine Cable, will gain additional cable landings by 2027 through projects involving Telin.
The partnership will lead to joint studies, technical discussions, and pilot initiatives, with both sides emphasizing knowledge sharing and sustainable regional growth.
