Conducted October 16–20 by Mason-Dixon Polling and Strategy for South Dakota News Watch and the University of South Dakota’s Chiesman Center for Democracy, the survey of 502 registered Republicans found 36% undecided.
Jackley, a former U.S. attorney and 2018 gubernatorial candidate, has raised $525,760 and holds a significant fundraising edge, with analysts citing his experience and conservative record as key advantages.
The race remains months from the June 2026 primary, but Jackley’s lead is seen as substantial.
