Microsoft South Africa, with GIZ, launched Ikamva Digital on October 29, 2025, a free, mobile-friendly, offline-capable platform offering digital skills training in cybersecurity, data analytics, software development, cloud computing, and AI-related fields to students and educators at TVET colleges.
Designed to align with industry needs and global workforce trends, it supports learners in underserved communities, integrates with Microsoft Learn and LinkedIn Learning, and aims to expand to all 50 TVET colleges.
The initiative, backed by Germany’s BMZ and aligned with South Africa’s National Development Plan, seeks to close the digital skills gap and prepare youth for future jobs.
