India’s top rice conference in Delhi unites global delegates and farmers to boost exports and farmer incomes.
The Bharat International Rice Conference 2025 opened in Delhi, uniting over 1,000 delegates from 80 countries and farmers from 20 Indian states.
Organized by the Indian Rice Exporters Federation with government support, the event highlights India’s role as the world’s top rice producer and exporter, accounting for 40% of global exports.
It aims to boost farmer incomes by linking them directly to international buyers, reduce reliance on minimum support prices, and improve global perceptions of Indian rice through a culinary showcase.
The conference spotlighted 17 farmers cultivating premium and GI-tagged rice varieties, with goals to unlock Rs 1.80 lakh crore in export opportunities and strengthen India’s position in the $330 billion global rice market.
