Camino Minerals and Nittetsu Mining begin leaching tests in Tokyo to expand Chile’s Puquios Copper Project, set for 2026 construction.
Camino Minerals and Nittetsu Mining have started proprietary leaching tests in Tokyo to assess expanding the Puquios Copper Project in Chile, which has secured all permits and is set to begin construction in early 2026.
The project will initially use conventional sulphide leaching with SXEW technology, while testing advanced methods to target deeper copper deposits.
The companies are also pursuing a debt facility with a Japanese lender and are confident in the project’s growth potential through their ongoing collaboration.
