Danny Mayson-Kinder, a Tasmanian mother who lost her daughter Billie in a 2016 horse accident, has been named a 2025 Australia’s Kindest Person finalist for founding the b kinder foundation, a national youth mental health and anti-bullying initiative inspired by her daughter’s kindness. She is one of four state finalists, alongside Tammy Robinson of Queensland, who provided free formal wear to over 9,500 people; Yolandi Vermaak of Canberra, who rescues wombats; and Kathleen Moore of Perth, who supports families facing illness and mentors disadvantaged youth. State winners receive $500 for charity, with the national winner, to be announced November 13, receiving $5,000.
