NCB arrested Danish Chikna, a key suspect in Dawood Ibrahim’s drug network, in Goa, seizing 1.341 kg of mephedrone.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Danish Chikna, a suspected key associate of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim, in Goa on October 25.
Chikna, also known as Danish Merchant, was identified as the alleged kingpin of a drug syndicate linked to Ibrahim’s network, overseeing the production and distribution of mephedrone across India.
Along with him, three others were apprehended, and 1.341 kg of mephedrone was seized.
The operation followed intelligence-led actions starting September 18, including prior drug recoveries in Pune and Mumbai.
Chikna, a repeat offender with multiple prior cases under the NDPS Act and other criminal charges, had evaded authorities by moving across states.
He was arrested at a holiday resort in Goa after months of surveillance.
Authorities are investigating his financial ties and potential offshore connections, with further arrests possible.
The NCB continues to urge the public to report drug-related activity through the national helpline.
