Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, 31, was arrested on October 23, 2025, in connection with a federal sports betting scheme tied to insider information. He faces an $8.2 million IRS tax lien from November 2023 and is one of six defendants indicted in "Operation Nothing But Bet," which alleges he used confidential data to place bets on his own performance during a March 2023 game. Sportsbooks halted wagers on his stats after a surge in bets on the under, and he exited the game early, citing a foot injury. Rozier, under contract with the Heat, was previously with the Hornets. In a separate case, "Operation Royal Flush," 31 individuals, including Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups and former NBA player Damon Jones, were indicted on charges involving high-tech cheating devices in gambling operations linked to organized crime. U.S. Attorney Joseph Nocella Jr. called both operations major breaches of sports integrity.
