A 38-year-old man from Figtree faces 16 charges after allegedly breaking into vehicles and properties in Robertson over two nights in late October 2025, with police saying six thefts involved unlocked cars and one through an unlocked garage.
He was arrested on October 19 at Wollongong train station and charged with break and enter, stealing from vehicles, and motor vehicle theft, among other offences.
Authorities allege he stole credit cards, cash, and car keys, with one card used at a local service station—caught on CCTV—aiding his identification.
Police had spoken to him the night of the incident but did not suspect him until reports were filed the next day.
He has been granted conditional bail and is due in Wollongong Local Court on November 6, 2025.
Police are urging residents to secure vehicles and homes to prevent similar break-ins.
