flag Madhya Pradesh raises fines for unauthorized government housing occupants and expands electrification to remote areas.

Madhya Pradesh has tightened rules for government housing, raising fines for unauthorized occupants to 30 times the standard rent after a six-month grace period for retirees and transferred employees. A 10-fold rent applies for the next three months, followed by a 10% monthly increase. Eviction follows non-compliance. The changes revise Rule 37 of the Government Housing Allotment Rules. The state also approved electrification for 18,833 homes in remote tribal areas, with solar power for 211 homes too distant for grid access. On November 1, the state will celebrate foundation day with a development exhibition, launch of digital platforms including Invest MP 3.0, and unveiling of the "Prosperous Madhya Pradesh @ 2047" vision document focused on the poor, youth, farmers, and women.
