A lane closure on I-78 began Oct. 28 for bridge repairs, ending Nov. 6, with detours advised.
A weeklong closure of the right westbound lane on I-78 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, began Oct. 28 at 9 p.m. and will end Nov. 6 at 6 p.m., one day ahead of schedule.
The work supports the Lenhartsville Bridge replacement project, which includes replacing the bridge over Maiden Creek and Route 143, widening the span, adding auxiliary lanes and shoulders, and reconstructing substandard ramps at Exit 35.
Off-ramps and on-ramps at Exit 35 have been closed since Oct. 19 and will remain so until Nov. 6.
PennDOT urges drivers to use detours, allow extra travel time, and check traffic updates via 511PA.
The project, started in July 2024, is expected to finish by summer 2028 and is weather-dependent.
