An Indian expat in Abu Dhabi won the UAE’s first Dh100 million lottery jackpot on October 18.
A 29-year-old Indian expat from Abu Dhabi, Anilkumar Bolla, won the UAE’s first-ever Dh100 million (₹240 crore) lottery jackpot in the October 18 Lucky Day Draw, the largest prize in the country’s history.
He selected his numbers using the Easy Pick feature, with the month number 11 chosen to honor his mother’s birthday.
The win, confirmed by UAE Lottery officials and announced on October 27, came with odds of 1 in 8.8 million.
Bolla, who was at home when he received the call, described the moment as surreal and life-changing.
He plans to use the tax-free winnings to invest, buy a supercar, stay at a luxury hotel, bring his family to the UAE, and donate to charity.
The draw, conducted under official oversight, marked a milestone for the UAE’s new digital lottery system.
