Gujarat to expand port with ₹17,000 crore deal, creating 25,000 jobs and boosting cargo capacity.
On October 29, 2025, Gujarat signed a ₹17,000 crore Memorandum of Understanding with Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited, a unit of APM Terminals, to expand the port’s infrastructure.
The project, supporting India’s 'Samudra Se Samriddhi' vision, aims to boost container, bulk, liquid, and Ro-Ro cargo capacity through new berths, modern terminals, and eco-friendly upgrades.
It is expected to create around 25,000 jobs and improve logistics efficiency, aligning with Gujarat’s goal to reach 3,000 million metric tons per annum in non-major port capacity by 2047.
The expansion depends on extending the port’s concession agreement, which expires in 2028.
