The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Thomas Harley to an eight-year, $84.8 million extension, making him their highest-paid defenseman.
The Dallas Stars have agreed to an eight-year contract extension with defenseman Thomas Harley, reportedly worth $10.6 million annually, making him the team’s highest-paid defenseman for the 2025-26 season and second-highest overall behind forward Mikko Rantanen.
The deal includes a full no-movement clause starting in the fourth year.
Harley, 24, was drafted 18th overall in 2019 and has recorded 33 goals and 78 assists in 206 career games, including five goals and 22 assists in 56 playoff games as the Stars reached the past three Western Conference finals.
He has one goal and seven assists in nine games this season.
The extension secures him through the 2033-34 season, following a two-year bridge deal worth $4 million per year.
Harley is also a candidate to represent Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics after assisting on a goal in the 4 Nations Face-Off final.
