A 39-year-old Kelso man, Leslie Paul Dennis, pleaded guilty on October 22, 2025, in Bathurst Local Court to possessing cannabis after being found with 0.74 grams during a walk in West Bathurst on September 26.
Police noticed him around 6:30 p.m. in an area known for drug activity, wearing a gown and black pants.
Dennis admitted he intended to smoke the cannabis, citing medicinal use, and was searched, leading to the seizure of the drugs.
Though he has prior offenses, Magistrate Gemma Slack-Smith found him guilty but imposed no further penalty.
