A woman was airlifted to Carlisle hospital on October 24 after dislocating her shoulder during a fall on a remote Lake District path from High Spy to Borrowdale. Keswick Mountain Rescue Team responded at 2:12 p.m., with a retired doctor among 16 volunteers stabilizing her. Due to the rugged terrain and injury severity, the Great North Air Ambulance was called, landing on a ridge to evacuate her by helicopter. The rescue took 3 hours and 18 minutes. Authorities reminded hikers of the risks in remote areas and the importance of preparation, especially as daylight fades.
