Two men, aged 26 and 24, have been arrested in New South Wales, Australia, over a major cocaine seizure of 128 kilograms at Sydney Airport, valued at $63 million AUD.
The arrest followed an investigation into a July shooting in Sydney’s inner-west, which led authorities to uncover a drug importation network.
The suspects were detained attempting to access the shipment at a freight facility, with additional drugs and cash seized during raids in western Sydney.
Both face multiple charges, including attempting to possess a commercial quantity of an illegally imported drug and participating in a criminal group, with the older man also charged with supplying a large quantity of a prohibited drug.
If convicted, they could receive life imprisonment.
