Toyota unveiled a turbocharged 1985 Land Cruiser restomod at SEMA 2025 with 389 hp, retaining classic features and modern upgrades.
Toyota unveiled the Turbo Trail Cruiser at the 2025 SEMA show, a restomod of the 1985 FJ60 Land Cruiser featuring a twin-turbo 3.4L V6 from the Tundra, producing 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. Retaining the original leaf springs, solid axles, and five-speed manual transmission, the truck received a 1.5-inch lift, 35-inch tires, and a factory silver repaint. Custom mounts and an adapter plate allowed the modern engine to fit without altering the engine bay. The interior includes a touchscreen for an upgraded JBL audio system. Toyota emphasized preserving the vehicle’s authentic character while demonstrating the potential for modernizing classic models, though no production plans were announced.
