Spiegel Haus Melbourne, a 2,000-capacity live performance venue, has opened next to Chinatown atop the Golden Square Car Park.
It features a 250-seat tent theatre, two black-box spaces, a 400-capacity Spiegeltent, and a rooftop beer garden.
Designed to fill a gap in Melbourne’s arts scene, it aims to support mid- and small-scale productions with longer runs, offering affordable tickets and fostering new talent.
The venue, privately funded without government support, will debut in November with the Melbourne premiere of the cabaret show Blanc de Blanc Encore and operate through July 2026.
It will collaborate with major festivals like the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Rising.
