The company developed an algae-based, carbon-neutral fuel for marine and aviation transport, compatible with existing engines.
The victory, which includes a €10,000 prize and global mentorship, highlights South Africa’s growing role in cleantech innovation.
Runner-up Chaja from Tanzania and third-place finisher OneFly from Colombia also received support.
The competition, returning to an in-person format in Vienna, is backed by Climate KIC, Bank of America, and Irish Aid.
Since 2014, it has helped startups secure over €500 million in investment.
